I have been hanging around Ushuaia solo for the past few days in case all my important equipment (my 90 lb travel buddy) was tardy. This is great news because I got a chance to do some much needed romping around outside. Ushuaia is located on the archipelago of Tierra del Fuego in the Tierra del Fuego providence which is also the name of the nearby national park. The name, which means "Land of Fire," comes from famous explorer, Ferdinand Magellan who spotted fires burning on the coastline when he sailed by in the early 1500s.
